About this Business
Back in 1994 I became part of the Stretch-n-Grow family. I have not had one day of regret. I totally believe in what we teach the children about healthy living, I have loved the relationships made with the children and staff of the centers and the giggles and smiles have made my heart full. I am not selling my business because I no longer enjoyed it, I am selling because at 66 years old, it is time for a new chapter. I have recently retired and I am no longer doing the classes but left on excellent terms with my clients. So I have contacts for a new owner. Over the years I have cut back so I was working a smaller area. The potential for new clients is whatever a new owner wants to put into it. Stretch-n-Grow has many programs to offer their clients. I would love to see someone take this business and run with it and reward the children with all the healthy lessons, but also soak in the rewards YOU will feel from those hugs, smiles, giggles and relationships. It is priceless.
I would love to talk to you and give you more insight about this opportunity.
Growth opportunities
The sky is the limit. There are Stretch-n-Grow franchisees that do their own classes and keep their businesses small (like I did) and there are franchisees that have a couple dozen employees working for them. You will be required to offer the fitness program to your clients plus one other Stretch-n-Grow program but there are several programs to offer them. Many franchisees teach multiple programs in their centers from fitness to dance, yoga, sports and more. Our main clients are child care centers and preschools but many teach at recreation centers, community centers.....wherever there are kids! I worked with large centers but also many home based centers. You will have your own territory so you are not competing against other SnG owners.
Owner's Day-to-Day Involvement
Your choice. I managed, marketed and taught my own classes. Some franchisees have multiple coaches teaching their classes while they themselves do all the managing. Some franchisees hire a person to do their managing and have coaches teaching. You decide. Start small and grow and change as you want to. That's what is wonderful about this. You make it work for you.
Franchise Accolades & Awards
Lots of hugs, smiles and giggles from our little "stars" but also lots of appreciation from all the staff at my centers
Additional Info
I have loved my Stretch-n-Grow journey and I have made many lifetime friends. So many memories.... Stretch-n-Grow corporate is wonderful to work with. They are there to help you and give you the training you need to succeed. For 32.5 years they have been there every step of the way. I came in when the company was a baby. It has amazed me how it is now an international company.
Asset Description
What we need to teach the classes is limited equipment. I will put together a small package of basics such as a parachute, foam balance beam, agility ladder etc for a new owner if they are interested. You have to supply the great attitude, enthusiasm and energy.
Inventory Description
Parachute foam balance beam agility ladder a few puppets (I took a puppet to every class and showed how the puppet exercised too!) with additional basics added as I go through my equipment
Reason for Selling
At 66 years old, it was time to retire. A new chapter for less schedules and more traveling etc. It was a hard decision because I have enjoyed it for so long.
Why I Love My Franchise
This is a hard question. There isn't anything I DIDN'T love. I believe in the product for sure. It gave me flexibility - I started my business when I was a stay at home mom and my own kids were in elementary school and then I changed how much I worked as they grew up. Corporate has been great to work with and they don't abandon you. I have loved seeing the children absorb the lessons and learn about being healthy. The children loved the activities and had so much fun in the classes.
About Stretch-n-Grow
Stretch-n-Grow is a children’s fitness and enrichment franchise that delivers movement-based programs for kids aged 18 months to 12 years. Its branded “EXERciting” classes blend exercise with fitness, dance, gymnastics, music, soccer, sports and yoga, and run as short sessions inside schools, childcare centers and community facilities rather than from a dedicated gym. Founded in 1992 and franchising since 1993, it is one of the longest-running concepts in the category.
The model is home-based and territory-led. Owners and their coaches bring programs into existing childcare and education sites under two formats: center-paid, where a center contracts for classes across its classrooms, and parent-paid, where families enrol individual children. Multiple program lines, camps and seasonal options give a single territory several revenue streams without a fixed retail location.
Stretch-n-Grow runs a worldwide network of certified children’s fitness coaches across the U.S., Canada and other countries, and positions itself as the original children’s fitness program. Network membership, recurring relationships with schools and childcare centers, and a structured proprietary curriculum set it apart from independent local providers.
Franchisee Support
Initial training covers 40 hours of classroom instruction plus 8 hours of on-the-job training, preparing owners to run classes, manage coaches and build center relationships. Ongoing support is delivered online through a franchisee intranet platform, alongside access to the proprietary curriculum, tools and systems, marketing support and continual in-the-field guidance from an established worldwide network of owners. Resale buyers should confirm with Stretch-n-Grow what transfer training and intranet access are provided to incoming owners, and whether existing coaches keep their certification.
Brand Accolades & Awards
Stretch-n-Grow is listed in Entrepreneur's franchise directory within the children's businesses category and has been recognised over the years among low-cost and fast-growing concepts in children's fitness. Its longevity is itself a credibility signal: founded in 1992 and franchising since 1993, it is one of the original children's fitness programs and reports reaching more than a million children worldwide through its certified-coach network across the U.S., Canada and other markets. For resale buyers, brand-level recognition should be weighed alongside the specific territory's local reputation, center relationships and parent reviews.
Industry / Market
Stretch-n-Grow sits in the U.S. children's fitness and youth-activity market, where participation has rebounded to its highest level since 2019. The federal National Survey of Children's Health reported 55.4% of youth aged 6-17 played sports in 2023, up from 53.8% in 2022. Demand is supported by parental concern over childhood obesity and screen time, and by dual-income families seeking structured activity during the school day. Because programs are delivered inside schools and childcare centers, the brand reaches children through settings parents already use, which can buffer the access barriers affecting higher-cost club sports.
Ideal Owner
The model suits hands-on, community-minded operators who are comfortable building relationships with school directors and childcare centers, since signing and retaining those accounts drives the business. Owners should be organised managers able to recruit, train and schedule coaches, and many choose to teach classes themselves early on. A genuine interest in children's health, plus confidence in front of parents and educators, matters more than prior fitness-industry experience, which the franchisor's training is designed to supply. Strong local marketing instincts help fill parent-paid programs.
