About this Business
I opened the Torrance location in 2022 after purchasing the Zoom Room Redondo Beach franchise from the franchisor. The Redondo Beach business operated from 2013 and served thousands of clients, providing recognition and an established customer base.
Our 4,000-square-foot facility is one of the larger locations in the Zoom Room network. We maintain a 4.9-star Google rating with hundreds of positive reviews.
Revenue is generated through class-pass sales. Clients purchase packages with a set number of class credits to use within a limited time period. We offer small-group classes in puppy and adult obedience, Puppy Preschool, agility, enrichment, scent work, and tricks. Obedience is the most popular program. Puppy Preschool serves puppies 8–16 weeks old and combines early obedience, confidence building, and supervised socialization.
Training takes place inside the facility, with owners participating with their dogs. Classes are limited to 4–6 clients, allowing trainers to provide individual coaching in a safe environment.
The operation is highly customer-focused and sales-oriented.
The team includes eight part-time staff who teach classes, support sales and client relationships, and maintain the facility. The owner-operator oversees staffing, scheduling, sales, customer service, expenses, marketing, and quality control.
The ideal operator enjoys working with people and dogs, is comfortable with consultative sales, and can maintain strong systems and service standards. Dog-training experience is helpful, but leadership, hospitality, organization, follow-through, and business judgment are equally important.
Growth opportunities
Immediate improvements can be made and greater growth can be achieved with stronger systems management.
Owner's Day-to-Day Involvement
The owner will need to take an initial full-time role to establish themselves, understand the business and build trust in the community. The current team does a good job managing the day-to-day, but owner involvement is key to getting it over the edge. I put the work in early and have been able to step back to a point where I can work from home and take 2-3 week vacations, but the business does better when the owner is present.

Why I Love My Franchise
There is nothing better than being greeted by a happy dog when you come in the door at Zoom Room and to see the joy on owner's faces as they work with their pups and learn how to better communicate and bond. By providing owners with the tools for training, we're saving dog's lives.
About Zoom Room
Zoom Room is a venture-backed indoor dog training franchise that emphasizes socialization and positive reinforcement, focusing on training dog owners rather than just dogs. Founded with a mission to create a community-centered, engaging environment, Zoom Room offers dog training classes, socialization events, and retail products tailored for responsible pet owners. The franchise appeals strongly to millennials and well-educated, active individuals, especially women. Unlike traditional drop-off training facilities, Zoom Room requires owners to stay with their dogs during sessions, fostering stronger bonds and reducing liability. With 68 locations across the U.S., including 64 franchised units, Zoom Room combines a low-footprint (under 3,000 sq ft) and minimal staffing model with year-round indoor operations, making it adaptable to various markets and climates.
Franchisee Support
Zoom Room provides comprehensive training and ongoing support, including assistance with site selection, marketing, operations, and financing. The franchise fee is $49,500 for a single unit, with total startup costs ranging from approximately $319,000 to $497,000. Financing options such as SBA loans and 401(k) rollovers are facilitated to make ownership more accessible. Multi-unit packages offer significant savings and extended timelines for opening multiple locations. Franchisees benefit from a proven business plan, a supportive corporate team, and participation in programs like the IFA’s VetFran, which offers discounts to veterans.
Brand Accolades & Awards
Zoom Room is recognized for its innovative approach to dog training and community building, boasting high customer loyalty with repeat clients spending nearly 100 times the cost to acquire them. The brand is known for its strong reputation within the pet franchise industry and its commitment to animal welfare through partnerships with rescues and charitable organizations.
Industry / Market
The pet services industry is rapidly growing, driven by increasing pet ownership and demand for premium, positive reinforcement training methods. Zoom Room’s indoor, climate-controlled facilities and socialization-focused model position it well to capitalize on this trend. Its diversified revenue streams from classes, events, and retail products contribute to a resilient and scalable business.
Ideal Owner
The ideal Zoom Room franchisee is an entrepreneurial, dog-loving individual motivated to build a community-focused business. Candidates should have a minimum net worth of $750,000 and at least $200,000 in liquid capital. No prior dog training experience is required, but a passion for pets, customer service, and community engagement is essential. Multi-unit ownership is encouraged for ambitious entrepreneurs.
